This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs the use of all hosting, email, and domain services provided by Xeces Technologies ("XECES", "we", "us", "our"). By using any XECES service, you ("Customer", "you", "your") agree to comply with this AUP, in addition to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
This policy exists to keep our servers stable, secure, and fair for every customer sharing them. Common sense is usually the best guide, but the sections below spell out what that means in practice.
1. Lawful Use Only
You may only use XECES services for lawful purposes. You must not use your hosting account, email service, or any associated domain to store, transmit, publish, or display any content or engage in any activity that violates applicable law, including the laws of Pakistan and any law applicable to you or your website's visitors.
2. Prohibited Content
The following content is not permitted on any XECES service, without exception:
- Content that infringes copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights
- Malware, viruses, ransomware, phishing pages, or any tool designed to gain unauthorized access to systems
- Content that facilitates hacking, cracking, exploit distribution, or unauthorized network intrusion
- Pornographic or sexually explicit material
- Content that promotes violence, terrorism, or hate speech
- Content that is defamatory, harassing, or violates the privacy of others
- Pyramid schemes, unlicensed gambling operations, or fraudulent financial schemes
- Content prohibited under the laws of Pakistan
XECES reserves the right to determine, at its sole discretion, whether content or activity violates this policy.
3. Resource Usage and Server Stability
XECES hosting plans run on shared infrastructure. To keep the service fast and reliable for every customer, the following applies:
- Hosting accounts are intended for active websites, associated databases, and email directly related to your website. They are not intended for general file storage, personal backup archiving, media streaming, or as a file-sharing/distribution service.
- Any single account that consumes a disproportionate share of shared CPU, memory, or I/O resources, to the point of affecting other customers, may be asked to upgrade to a higher plan or may have the offending process suspended, with notice given wherever practical.
- Automated scripts, cron jobs, or applications that place continuous heavy load on the server are not permitted without prior approval.
- Running your own SMTP mail server, open proxy, VPN endpoint, or similar network service on shared hosting is not permitted.
4. Email and Anti-Spam
- Sending unsolicited bulk email ("spam") using any XECES service is strictly prohibited, regardless of the content being advertised.
- Any account responsible for causing an XECES IP range to be blacklisted may be suspended immediately while the issue is investigated and resolved.
- Basic email authentication (SPF/DKIM) is enabled by default on all email hosting accounts and should not be disabled, as this helps protect your domain's sending reputation as well as our shared IP reputation.
- Mailing list or bulk transactional email sending should use a dedicated, reputable service rather than the shared hosting mail queue. Contact us if you are planning a legitimate high-volume email use case so we can advise on the right setup.
5. Security Responsibilities
- You are responsible for keeping any software you install (WordPress, plugins, themes, custom applications) updated and patched. Known-vulnerable, outdated software that is compromised and used to attack other systems may result in immediate suspension until resolved.
- You are responsible for the security of your account credentials. Do not share your control panel or billing portal login with untrusted parties.
- If your account is compromised, notify us as soon as possible so we can assist in securing it. XECES is not responsible for losses resulting from compromised credentials or vulnerable third-party software you have installed.
6. Backups
Our infrastructure includes automated daily backups with a rolling window of restore points, which you can access and restore yourself through your hosting control panel. This is provided as a convenience and is not a guaranteed data protection service, retention windows and availability can change without notice. You remain responsible for maintaining your own independent backups of your website files, databases, and email data. We recommend keeping a recent local or offsite backup of anything you cannot afford to lose.
7. Reseller and Agency Accounts
If you hold an XECES Agency Hosting or reseller-style account and manage sub-accounts or client sites on our behalf, this AUP applies to every site and account under your management. You are responsible for ensuring your own clients also comply with this policy.
8. Customer Content and Liability
You are solely responsible for all content you upload, publish, or transmit using XECES services. XECES does not pre-screen customer content and is not a publisher of it. Even where XECES enforces this AUP, XECES accepts no liability, and cannot be held responsible, for any content uploaded, hosted, or transmitted by a customer that is later found to be illegal, defamatory, infringing, or otherwise improper under any applicable law. Responsibility for such content rests entirely with the customer who uploaded or published it, not with XECES.
9. Enforcement
If we determine that your account violates this AUP, we may, at our discretion and depending on severity:
- Notify you and request the issue be corrected within a reasonable timeframe
- Temporarily suspend the affected service until the issue is resolved
- Terminate the account, in cases of severe or repeated violation, illegal content, or activity that threatens the security or stability of our network
We will generally attempt to notify you before taking action, except where the violation poses an immediate risk to our network or other customers, in which case we may act first and notify you afterward.
10. Reporting Abuse
If you believe an XECES-hosted website or email account is being used in violation of this policy, contact us at with details of the issue.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this AUP from time to time to reflect changes in our services or applicable law. Continued use of XECES services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
